An idoxiny update

An idoxiny update

A few days after building idoxiny, I was cornered by the truly wonderful human being that is Michael Grimes, who encouraged me to secure the .com to make it easier for the site to grow.

So I did. I also merged the Doers and Seekers, so now when you sign up, if you have skills to offer but have gaps you need to fill, you can just point people to one page which shows what you have, and what you're looking for.

Once I've got the idea of logging in and out of the site via Twitter sorted, I'll be able to add the function to tweet two parties when a connection is made (ie: when someone adds skills that another is looking for, both parties will get an introductory tweet). I need to figure out the Twitter login thing because it'll be important for people to be able to turn that off, if they're no longer looking for a freelancer.

So there we have it. If you have any little jobs you need doing or gaps in your company's capabilities that can be filled by a freelancer - it doesn't have to be techie or web related, and it doesn't have to be in Birmingham either - get yourself listed; there's plenty of talent waiting to be picked up.

And while I'm at it, thanks for all the lovely comments I've received from people about idoxiny. Let's just hope we get some success stories going!
